The Halíř Trio was founded in 2016 with the aim of presenting the personality of the Czech violin virtuoso Karel Halíř (Vrchlabí 1859 - Berlin 1909).

After the unexpected death of the leading Czech pianist Václav Mácha, the Halíř Trio consists of Eduardo García Salas, a Spanish violinist living in Prague, Slovak cellist Jana Podolská and Czech pianist Barbora K. Sejáková. Members of the Halíř Trio are winners of international competitions such as the Student Competition of Slovak Conservatories, the Karl-Bergemann Competition in Hannover, the European Music Prize Contest in Hannover, Dublin, and others. The ensemble has performed at festivals in Castilla La Mancha, Juventudes Musicales de Mahón, Chamber Music Series in Cordoba, Metropole Theatre in Tarragona, Auditorio Enrique Granados in Lleida, Spain, Teatro del Títere in Cadiz and in many cities in the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Macedonia, Malta etc. The Czech-Slovak-Spanish ensemble has always received very good critical feedback. 

In the summer of 2017, the Halíř Trio recorded its first CD, Granados - Dvořák, at the Auditorium Enrique Granados in Lleida (Spain) for the Czech label ArcoDiva, distributed by Naxos. The compact disc contains the Piano Trio in C major, Op. 50 by Enrique Granados and the Piano Trio in F minor, Op. 65 by Antonín Dvořák. This second work, the Piano Trio in F minor, can be considered not only one of the highlights of Dvořák's chamber music, but also one of the most important works of its genre in general. Karel Halíř gave the German premiere of the work in Mannheim on 2 December 1883. The album was presented on 5 April 2018 as "CD of the Day" on the Czech Radio Vltava station.

The next planned recording projects of the Halíř Trio, again with Arcodiva and Naxos, are Paul Juon's Trio in A minor, Op. 17, premiered by Karel Halíř in 1902, and P. I. Tchaikovsky's Piano Trio in A minor, Op. 50, which Halíř performed in Leipzig in January 1888 in the presence of the composer.
